#750 on the list of 1000 places: Kentucky Bluegrass
We took a trip during the holidays and meandered the back roads of the Lexington, KY suburbs. The bluegrass was mostly covered with a crust of snow. It was a pretty drive, up through Tennessee, into Kentucky for an overnight stay. Then across West by gawd Virginia, to southwest Virginia. Snow on the mountains, but the roads were clear.
Have made lots of trips to and through bluegrass country, but this is the first time to notice Quilt Barns. First became aware of these when a friend blogged about adding a quilt block decoration to her barn in central Kentucky.
When we spotted an 8 x 8 design on a barn overlooking I-75, knew what it was and then kept a lookout for more. Saw another one right in Jessamine County.
