Springtime on the Prairie

We didn’t anticipate a reunion in the U.S. so soon after T.’s recent visit stateside, but took advantage of his business trip to Iowa and spent a weekend in Cedar Rapids.


On Saturday night, we enjoyed a production at Theatre CR, right across the street from our hotel.

After a tour of the town where the factory and home office are located, we toasted our mom’s w/ a Margarita at a local Mexican restaurant.



Took a scenic drive through the villages that make up the Amana colonies, a historic utopian society located in the rolling hills of Iowa's River Valley. The Amana Colonies were established shortly before the Civil War and are now part of the National Park System.
