Flat tire in Qatar

Had a flat a couple of weeks ago. They tie wrap the hubcaps on so I had to get a nearby groundskeeper to help me by cutting the tie wraps off with his landscaping scythe.

He got a buddy and they did most of the tire changing except they couldn't figure out how to get the nuts started because there was something wrong with the disc which allowed it to rotate over the threaded female holes.

Once I helped them with that they finished except I did the final tightening because they didn't know how to tighten evenly.

I think I bent the rim on a pot hole and then caused more damage driving on it before I knew I had a flat.

The rental car guy said no problem, “We'll get an estimate and we can take care of it next time you are in Qatar. Next month? No problem!”

Relationships really are everything over here! I always just call this guy (Habass) on his cell phone and have him hold a car for me. He works for the SIXT rental agency in Qatar. I ditched Eurocar because they did some price switching and Avis because the cigarette lighter fuses were always blown and I had to move another fuse over to use my GPS. Avis is right next to SIXT though so we still talk when I come to get the SIXT car.
