Losail International Moto GP Circuit, Doha, Qatar

The 2007 MotoGP championship gets underway in earnest at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar this week . And as luck would have it, our traveling engineer finds himself there on official business this week, with plans to stay over the weekend for the race events.

Never heard of MotoGP?

Wondering who actually follows this sport?

Wow! Where did you find that other blog? I met all those people... Believe me though, there is nothing worth calling a "mall" at the star in that blog. The pyramid building to the right though is the Sheraton - a nice but overpriced hotel (known as Aunt T's house to some people). If its mall you wanna see in the middle east, go to Dubai. Even in Doha, there's Landmark Mall. Hotel of choice in that blog was obviously the Ramada based on description of the patrons which are there most any night - MotoGP or not. Thankfully I skipped the "cake" on the way back to Dubai! No glass shards for me (there's nothing served on Qatar Air worth taking a 1/2" bite of anyway so he should have found the glass shard before it did damage) but other bad experiences made it my last Qatar air trip too unless circumstances are really dire (like my only other possible choice was to fly Gulf Air!!! or walk/swim).
