In the UAE emirate of Sharjah even the store mannequins must adhere to the local standards of modesty. Lest they display any facial expressions that may drive the local bachelors wild with desire, they are decapitated by local decree. Store owners harboring mannequins with loose morals risk fines and store closure. However now that the local newspaper has written the states they are also “forbidden to wear underwear”, local bachelors may not be thinking so much about the missing heads. Keeping ones thoughts pure is difficult enough without such scandalous information being published in the local newspaper!
